Modelling the Diffusion Coefficients of Dilute Gaseous Solutes in Hydrocarbon Liquids

Abstract In this work, we present a model, based on rough hard-sphere theory, for the tracer diffusion coefficients of gaseous solutes in non-polar liquids. This work extends an earlier model developed specifically carbon dioxide hydrocarbon liquids and establishes general correlation The considered were light hydrocarbons, dioxide, nitrogen argon, while solvents all Application requires knowledge temperature-dependent molar core volumes solute solvent, which can be determined from pure-component viscosity data, temperature-independent roughness factor single coefficient measurement system interest. new was found to correlate experimental data with average absolute relative deviation 2.7 %. also successfully represents computer-simulation mixtures reduces expected form self-diffusion when solvent become identical.
